I grew up in Moss Landing, CA, nestled in beautiful Monterey County, and graduated from North Monterey County High School. Following my passion for education, I earned a BA in Elementary Education from Sterling College in central Kansas. Recently, I completed my MA in Administrative Leadership at National University.
Career
During my college years in Kansas, I balanced academics with my love for football, earning multiple academic All-American awards during my four-year tenure on the field. After graduation, I began my teaching career focusing on 6th-grade math and science. After three fulfilling years in Kansas, I returned home to support my family and found myself drawn to the lively atmosphere of junior high education. Following a move to Redding on a whim, I spent several years at Mistletoe School before pursuing my MA and transitioning into school administration. I've had the privilege of serving Boulder Creek and Parsons Junior High for the past three years as an assistant principal and am now thrilled to be rejoined at Parsons as the Principal.
Life Outside School
In 2020, I married my best friend, Sarah. Our household is joyfully chaotic with four large dogs who keep us on our toes. Our greatest happiness comes from exploring the outdoors together through mountain biking and hiking, weight lifting, and activities that fuel our sense of adventure.
Stacey Bourget - Assistant Principal
Early Life
I was born in Crescent City, California, and moved to Redding when I was three years old. I began kindergarten at Mistletoe Elementary School before moving to Southern California in fourth grade. After spending several years there, I returned to Redding during my sophomore year of high school and graduated from Enterprise High School. I later attended Grand Canyon University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education.
Career
I began my teaching career in 2014 and had the opportunity to work with both middle and high school students. Although I originally planned to teach high school long term, I quickly discovered a passion for middle school education and chose to focus my career there. Over the years, I taught English Language Arts in grades 6-12 and served in a variety of leadership roles, including coaching, mentoring, leading professional development, and supporting school wide initiatives.
In 2024, I transitioned into educational leadership after earning my Administrative Services Credential through the Shasta County Office of Education Leadership Academy. I also completed a Master of Arts degree in Applied School Leadership through National University. I am currently serving as the Assistant Principal at Parsons Junior High, where I enjoy supporting students, staff, and families while helping create a positive school culture focused on student success.
Life Outside School
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I have two children, and together we enjoy camping, spending time at the lake, and exploring the outdoors throughout Northern California. Our son enjoys outdoor adventures and sports, while our daughter is passionate about dance and other extracurricular activities. Our household stays busy, and we love making memories together wherever life takes us.
I also enjoy staying active through strength training, reading, traveling, and finding opportunities to experience new places and cultures. Whether it is a weekend adventure close to home or a trip to a new destination, out of the country, I appreciate opportunities to explore and learn something new.
